Our client, a successful company in the financial services space have an opening for a Development Team Lead to join their Dublin based team.

This will suit someone who is coming from a hands-on development background but who has moved away from coding and who is passionate about process improvement and project delivery.

Reporting into the Development Manager, this role will work closely with 3-4 teams across development, test, dev ops etc. in the delivery of multiple projects of work and will be pivotal in the promotion of best practive and continuous improvement.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Be central to the technical design and implementation of enterprise scale solutions across a broad technical stack.

Guide and mentor team in driving innovation and applying best practice in the implementation of development solutions.

Drive continuous improvement in solution implementation and our delivery practices.

Manage technical aspects of development teams to deliver full lifecycle enterprise solutions.

Conduct quality reviews of our implementation to ensure they meet our high standards

Your experience:

5+ years broad technical experience as a software developer or technical lead.

Previous experience as a software developer (eg Java, PL/SQL) in a prior role is a preference.

Previous experience of Atlasssian toolset is an essential requirement - Confluence, JIRA, Zepher/TestRail.

Excellent knowledge and experience of modern software development frameworks (Scrum/Kanban/Lean/XP).

Familiar with modern engineering practises including User Stories, Velocity, Burn-down charts, Burn-up charts, Cycle Times, Cumulative Flow, Pair Programming, BDD, TDD.

Familiar with concepts sush as Design Patterns and OO programming.

Experience in highly scalable, highly available platforms.

Experience in Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery & Automation.

Desirable:

Financial Services experience (Insurance or Banking) would be a distinct advantage.

Exposure to Cloud services (AWS, Azure) would be advantageous.
