Technical Pre-sales Consultant (Hands-on) - Permanent - London - £50k
My client is a consultancy that ar growing their technical pre-sales team. If you have a good technical background in IT network and infrastructure and have strong experience on the pre-sales side of things, then please apply.
Roles & Responsibilities summary:
* Supporting all sales opportunities through the technical pre-sales process, initial bid review(s), solution designs, high & low-level design documentation and pricing considerations for delivery.
* Ability to translate customer requirements to industry leading technology platforms.
* Completion of tender response documentation, request for proposals & information (RFP & RFI) and pricing requests.
* Preparation of solution design schematics.
* Leading the technology design specifications & principles, business IT strategies and ensuring they are delivered to budget, timescale and operational functionality.
* Supporting applications, Virtualisation, server, storage, and networking technologies and associated equipment defined within the pre-sales opportunity scope.
* Hands on technical skills and ownership, responsibility and lead for all technology areas applicable or identified.
* Providing technical leadership in cloud, Virtualisation, network and critical datacentre environment transformation technologies.
* Ensuring the company security, governance and compliance are maintained at all times through across the business.
* Preparing business case and justification plans against technology, compliance, security standards and governance aspects in line with customer, tender or sales opportunity requirements.
* Ownership and responsibility for project-based requirements, either internally lead IT based or externally customer focused where identified.
* To contribute to the overall success of IT Technologies, its departments, teams operationally and commercially
* Responsibility for the overall pre-sales budgets and delivery metrics.
* Management of business partners, vendors and 3rd party delivery contracts & engagements during the pre-sales engagement.
Must Have:

* Experience, skills & knowledge of datacentre, critical environments & applications focus.
* Excellent IT skills combined with a good understanding of interrelated, integrated and layered service technologies.
* MCSE, CCNP, Virtualisation, VMWare, HyperV, Linux, Storage and or similar IT technology or pre-sales qualifications.
* MS Azure, Amazon Web Services and or other cloud Hyperscaler knowledge & experience.
* Excellent organisational skills, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to explain complex systems in simple terms.
* Understanding of complex technical environments and providing support, information and requirements scope.
* Excellent communication and customer facing skills, either directly client facing or in customer focused technology organisations.
* Strong influencing skills around technical requirements & specifications.
* Strong guidance, IT technology leadership and decision-making skills.
* Good Prioritisation skills and be flexible enough to adapt plans.
* Attention to detail and pre-sales design specification documentation control.
* Ability to prioritise across work to meet all business and customer demands.
* Flexible to meet and deliver business demands, growth and challenges.
* An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints.
* Ability to manage teams in matrix-managed environments.
* Ability, skills, knowledge and experience in IT consultancy and specialist-based resourcing roles.
* A Project Management qualification or experience of, such as PRINCE2 is also desirable, but not essential.
* SC Clearance or other clearance levels are desirable, but not essential.
