Senior Data Protection Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Protection Engineer to join a well-established international enterprise based in Bracknell. As a member of the global data protection team, the Senior Data Protection Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day backup operations, troubleshooting, media management, and drive backup success rates and SLAs

Working as the Senior Data Protection Engineer, your role will include:

* Planning, testing, and implementing global upgrades of data protection infrastructure, including CommVault software, tape and disk storage targets, and backup servers.

* Collaborating with storage team members to create mirrors and snapshots to protect mission critical data.

* Implementing backup solutions for core datacenters, remote locations, offices, and small datacenters.

* Provide input and feedback to the IT Infrastructure architecture team for long-term strategic data protection needs.

* Daily, weekly and monthly reporting on backup failures/success rates, failure trends, capacity trends and capacity planning.

Skills required for the Senior Data Protection Engineer:

* Experience using Commvault in large IT environments.

* Strong knowledge of Commvault deduplication.

* Knowledge of tools such as IntelliSnap, Synthetic Copy, DASH Copy, Continuous Data Replicator, LiveSync, NDMP, VMware Proxy Copy, and Workflows.

* Excellent reporting and communication skills
