System Support Co-ordinator (Contract)

Home Based (with extensive travel throughout Northern Ireland and the North of the Republic of Ireland)

Starting salary of £25,662 / €32,755

Our client is the charity that saves lives at sea. They are now looking for a System Support Co-ordinator to join their team on a contract lasting up to 30 months.

The charity has been investing in new technology to support their lifesaving and Engagement activities and business processes.

Our client needs someone to help build on the initial training that they’ve given users, ensuring that they help end users engage and make the most of the new system from the outset. Based in the Community Lifesaving department, you will work with staff and volunteers within your region, providing onward training and general support during the transition period until use of the systems becomes business as usual.

You will also be involved in co-ordinating the needs of your end users in new and current company systems. By reporting issues and updates you will help improve the systems to make the tasks simpler and less time consuming for lifesavers. You will be arranging meetings and ensuring that key representatives are connected with the right people in the programme team at the right time. You will work with a number of teams from across your area.

The successful candidate will have an inquisitive mind and an appetite for understanding how users interact with technology. Empathy with the end user is more important than being a systems expert. Full training in the systems will be given.

You will be required to regularly travel extensively within your area, as well as more widely when required. A valid driving licence is required. This is a home-based role covering users based at coastal and inland sites throughout Northern Ireland and the North of the Republic of Ireland. The flexibility to work evenings and weekends is essential. A company vehicle is provided.

Our client is an innovative leading UK and International charity and there has never been a more exciting time to join them, where every member of staff plays a vital part in saving lives at sea. If you want the opportunity to join a bright and motivated team in a vibrant, forward-thinking organisation, this is a great step for you.

This post requires a valid driving licence.

Our client’s staff and volunteers have been saving lives at sea without prejudice for nearly 200 years. They respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within their teams, and consider it essential to help deliver a world-class lifesaving service. They are an inclusive organisation and welcome applications from everyone. In addition to having the skills needed for the role, they also look for applicants who share their commitment to living their values (trustworthy, courageous, selfless, and dependable), and helping them work towards their goals of halving drowning in the UK and Ireland by 2024. This involves a growing commitment to preventative action, using expertise to work in partnership with communities locally, nationally and internationally to prevent drowning.
