As a Back-End Java Developer you'll be working on a product suite used by millions across the UK.

The Java Developer must be prepared to become multi-disciplined, and must have a focus and passion on Object Oriented (OO) principles, writing clean code and comprehensive tests. As well as web technologies the Java Developer must also be able to adapt and learn other relevant technologies as required in the technology stack in order to deliver through the complete software development lifecycle.

Accountability / Responsibility:

*Ensures code is meeting relevant standards and principles to ensure a high standard

*Ensures code has relevant automated tests

*Delivers to estimates and meets agreed deadlines

*Strong background within core Java development

*Experienced in RESTful API's

*Ideally worked on a consumer facing product

*Enjoys an Agile TDD, paired approach

Experience

*Understand the iterative software development lifecycle, Agile, Scrum, Kanban

*Experience of AngularJs

*Experience with dependency injection (e.g. Spring/Guice)

*Experience in working with an IDE (IntelliJ/Eclipse)

*Experience of test driven development

*Experience of server/middleware development

*Experience of working with Source Control/Configuration management e.g. Git

*Experience of building RESTful services/systems (JSON / XML-based)

*Experience of integration with services/systems (SOAP / RESTful)

*Experience of using Build Tools (e.g. Ant, Maven, Gradle)

*Experience of automated build, deployment and continuous integration

*Excellent understanding of Object Oriented (OO) principles
