Highly recognised and flourishing engineering business in Gloucester, urgently requires an IT Infrastructure Engineer for its rapidly expanding IT department. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, your role will be based around two key areas; Virtualised Environments (VMware) and Windows Server Infrastructure, whilst spending 50% of your time on Greenfield Projects and the other 50%, on Third-Line Support queries.

Projects will include; Datacentre Refreshes & Reconfiguration, Setting up 300 Servers for multiple sites (international based offices), just to name a few.

You will also oversee a variety of analytical and technical assignments that provide for problem diagnosis and solutions documentation, implementation, administration, support, and maintenance of a variety of hardware, software, and network products in an information technology infrastructure environment.

As VMware & Windows Server are two main requirements, we expect the following experience;

* Knowledge of technical analysis, implementation, configuration, and upgrading of virtualised server infrastructure based on VMware, vSphere or HyperV.

* Knowledge of Microsoft Server technology and infrastructure platforms including Windows server operating systems and database (SQL).

Any experience within Networks, Networking or Hardware will be highly desirable at this stage. These areas include;

* Knowledge of network environments and concepts such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory.

* Knowledge of technical analysis, implementation, configuration, and upgrading of network infrastructure consisting of Cisco network LAN, WAN equipment and Cisco Wireless Infrastructure.

* Knowledge of technical analysis, implementation, configuration, and upgrading of DELL Server and Storage infrastructure.
