We are currently recruiting for an experienced Database Administrator to undertake an initial 4 month contract with potential to extend thereafter for a global enterprise client based in Oxfordshire. ASAP start.

Required

* Database Administrator (DBA) experience

* Database optimisation / performance tuning

* Windows Oracle RAC experience

* Database administration including installation, configuration, upgrading, capacity planning, security management

* Oracle backup & recovery (including RMAN, Data Guard, datapump)

* Able to work with technical and non-technical people to design, implement, deliver & support critical databases

* Defining Oracle database requirements and capacity planning

* Managing system documentation

* Troubleshooting & problem solving

* High availability database & infrastructure experience

* Ability to meet deadlines on multiple activities (project and support items)

* Adherence to regulatory & IT policies & procedures

* Experience in large enterprise database environments

* Fluent in PL/SQL script development

Desirable

* Linux Oracle RAC experience

* SQL DBA experience

* Systems Life Cycle (SLC) experience

* Experience in a regulated environment

* System validation experience

* Proficient in developing and adhering to documentation

* Experience with relational databases including decision support systems & online transactional processing

* Third line support experience

* Oracle data replication

* Experience of contributing to supporting critical databases that run 24x7

* Implementation of monitoring and alerting systems on databases

* Fluent in Linux/Unix shell scripting

* GoldenGate & Data Guard experience

* Oracle Advanced Security

* Database architecting based on user requirements

* Ability to perform in a diverse cross functional team environment

* Experience with developing reports in off the shelf reporting tools such as Cognos
