Risk & Compliance Officer / West Midlands / Permanent / Start - ASAP / £NEG

We are looking for an experienced Risk and compliance officer for a reputable financial services client based in the heart of the West Midlands. You will be joining a team of experienced Risk professionals and will be part of a growing team, that provide assurance that the organisation is operating within its policies and procedures and adhering to regulatory requirements.

The Role

*Work with other departments to embed the Risk Management Framework, investigating risk events, reviewing management information and creating reports for the Board Risk Committee.

*Complete compliance tasks, including compliance monitoring and quality assurance reviews as allocated, managing and prioritising own workload to ensure that work is completed within the specified time frame.

*Carry out anti-money laundering and financial crime reviews and daily transaction monitoring. Work with the MLRO to investigate any internal suspicious activity reports and report to the National Crime Agency

*You will be able to review regulatory publications and assess the impact to the organisation and update various documents as required.

Skills Required

*Good administrative skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Embrace new technology as required.

*Able to prioritise own workload and manage time in order to produce accurate and thorough work whilst working to deadlines.

*Have an open and approachable manner and the ability to communicate and work alongside all departments promoting a good compliance and risk culture.

*Excellent time keeping and attendance and flexible with time in order to ensure that the Department meets its objectives.

*A minimum of 5 individual GCSE's at grades A* to C (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language.

*2-3 years' experience working in a compliance and/or risk function.

Advantageous

*Ideally hold a relevant qualification e.g. Compliance Diploma, Institute of Risk Management Certificate or Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice(Ce-Map) .Prudential experience
