IT RISK MANAGER - Global and Worldwide Leader in Financial Services

Permanent position - up to £65k + extensive benefits

My client are the number one global insurance brand, a worldwide leader in financial services, and leading the way to better health. They are one of the UK's largest and most experienced private medical insurance providers, and have been helping people access the medical care they need and when and where they need it.

Due to exciting business growth, we are recruiting for an experienced Risk Manager to join the highly experienced Risk team in the Tunbridge Wells office; to be responsible for ensuring the adequacy of first line security controls and providing an independent view on security strategy and controls to senior executives and the board.

You will cover second line activities, support the implementation and operation of the Information & Technology Risk Framework and act as subject matter expert for the risk function.

Skills Required

* Have thorough knowledge of overall Information & Technology risks faced by financial services firms with a particular emphasis on cyber/security risks

* Have strong knowledge of IT systems, processes and controls

* Have experience with developing risk assessments, prioritising risks and assessing / testing controls

* Preferably have obtained a relevant industry qualification covering the management of Information and Technology Risk (e.g. CISM, CISP, CISA), but candidates who do not have this will be considered if they are willing to study for such a qualification

* Be willing and able to engage with others in the business to understand the effectiveness of the controls they are operating and be prepared to challenge the adequacy of these if required

* Be familiar with risk identification and management methodology and the inter-relationship between identification of root cause and design/reporting of controls. Knowledge of Technology Risk Frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ISF, ISO27000 series) would be an advantage;

* Have experience in financial services within a IT, Security or Information Security function.
