About Economics Statistics Group

The Economic Statistics Group produces a wide range of data and analysis to support decision makers and help people understand the UK economy. As an inspiring member of the ONS leadership team, you will establish strong relationships with key stakeholders to motivate, collaborate and innovate with, and for, others.

This role reflects a reorganisation within the Economic Statistics Group as we carry out our Economic Statistics Transformation Programme. New methods and data sources are being integrated, and there is a focus on developing new capabilities and ways of working. This exciting role requires an enthusiastic, experienced and senior leader to help us deliver our ambitious plans.

Director, Economic Statistics Development

This role will oversee a wide-ranging portfolio of deliverables, including:

           Delivering a wide-ranging programme of changes to economic statistics in line with the Economic Statistics Transformation Programme, as set out in the ONS Business Plan;

           Overseeing the development of National Accounts, including the annual Blue Book through which many improvements are delivered. This includes responsibility for monthly GDP production and related outputs; and

           Steering the development of the Labour Market and Households division, with a focus on transforming labour market statistics using new data sources.
