Quality Team Leader - £55,000 - £75,000 - FTSE 250 Global Organisation

12 Month Fixed Term Contract

We require a Quality Specialist/Team Leader to work for a prestigious FTSE250 global defence organisation. The primary purpose of the Quality Team Leader is to lead a team of two Process Analysts to define, develop and implement a coherent and integrated set of processes and procedures. This may involve revising existing processes and procedures and/or developing new ones. These roles will provide an excellent development opportunity with an impressive benefits package.

Job description:

The Quality Team Leader will ensure all related quality improvement activity is planned, resourced, implemented and monitored in a coherent and integrated way. The principal required outcome is that the customer is confident in our ability to deliver and sustain product quality, supplier quality and quality assurance.

The Process Team will work closely with the, product and supplier quality teams, as well as business functions.

Role and responsibilities include:

* Delivering a set of quality focused processes and procedures for DSG within the scope of the QMS, and to meet ISO standards, by:

* Managing the Process Analysts, providing leadership and direction to that team and ensuring that all team members understand their individual roles, objectives and required deliverables and that they have achievable and measurable plans to achieve them.

* Leading the assessment of existing processes and procedures against the agreed scope of the QMS to determine where revised and/or additional processes and procedures are required to meet ISO standards.

* Developing a method and approach for prioritising the activity required to address current shortcomings and gaps in current process definitions and documentation.

* Leading the development of revised and additional processes and procedures and identifying and planning additional training and system support requirements.

* Leading the development of effective and practical change management and communication strategies and plans to ensure that the processes are fully embedded within the working practices of the organisation and continue to be used and deliver benefit.

* Working with business functional areas to implement and embed the revised and new processes and procedures.

* Developing and maintaining detailed Project Plans in MS Project, to plan and manage process work packages, activities, tasks and resources.

* Producing and maintaining documentation to ensure project requirements and workstream are effectively scoped and understood, with changes managed formally

* Ensuring that projects and workstreams are effectively resourced initiated, delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standard.

* Managing team members, allocating and utilising resources in an efficient manner and maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful team.

* Identifying and effectively managing and mitigating project and workstream risks by developing appropriate mitigation strategies.

* Taking ownership for the development and on-time delivery of final deliverables.

* Ensuring that company health, safety, environmental and security procedures are complied with at all times.

* Any other duties commensurate with the role as directed.

Technical Experience and Qualifications:

* Experience of business processes analysis, mapping and improvement

* Practical knowledge and experience of business change approaches and techniques and their practical application

* Practical experience and use of continual improvement tools and techniques e.g. process management, kaizen, lean sigma (Yellow/Green Belt preferred).

* Practical knowledge and experience of multiple management systems (ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001) and continual improvement.

* Member of the Chartered Quality Institute, or equivalent. (desirable)

* Thorough knowledge and use of IT and the Internet (Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint, Q-Pulse)

* Practical experience of having successfully developed, implemented and embedded quality focused processes in large engineering organisations

* Proven highly developed interpersonal and verbal and written communications

* Ability to work collaboratively at all levels of the organisation

* Ability to plan and organise workload to meet challenging timescales

* Ability to challenge and influence others

* Good creative thinking, problem solving and analytical skills

* Ability to design, implement and embed process improvements

* Ability to collate, analyse and present data

* Excellent time management skills

* Comfortable working across a multi-disciplined environment

* Demonstrates a flexible, can do attitude
