User Researcher

A User Researcher is required to carry out user research as part of a multi-disciplinary agile team working closely with a Product Manager, internal staff and the lead service design partner.

Essential Skills and Experience:

*Proven experience of understanding user needs in a digital environment especially those with the most complex user journeys.

*Proven experience of designing, facilitating and analysing a wide range of qualitative and quantitative user research methods.

*Proven experience of testing prototypes and making evidence based recommendations back to the design team.

*Understands and has broad experience of a range of agile and user-centred approaches. Can help government organisations embed user-centred design in agile service design and delivery. Can guide organisations to put users first.

*Has some knowledge of current technologies used to build and operate digital services. Understands the different technical roles in a digital team.

*Strong understanding of strengths and limitations of different research methods.

*Proven experience of presenting user research findings in a wide variety of formats and contexts.

*Proven experience of working in an agile development environment with designers and developers and product managers to create new digital products and services

The following are highly desirable:

*Experience of working on a Public Sector digital project or similar/equivalent.

*Knowledge of the Government Digital Service approval processes.
