Data Administrator - Big Data- £50k

We are currently looking for a Data Administrator for this international organisation. You will be working on complex systems: developing, testing and designing data solutions that will enable to business to better access and look after a vast archive of data.

Our client use Hadoop to manage their data, however, anyone with a strong Hadoop or Linux background will be suitable for this position.

As Data Administrator you will be responsible for the following:

* Install, update and configure applications.

* Supporting Physical nodes and Virtual Machines.

* Configuration Management

* Provide expertise for monitoring servers and assisting with troubleshooting Hadoop Clusters.

* Ensure that the cluster and data are accessible.

* Ensure the security and integrity of the cluster

* Provide security support by providing expertise in terms of SSL Certificates, TLS, PEN Testing etc.

* Managing load balancing within the cluster.

As Data Administrator you will need to have the following Skills:

* In depth experience as a Linux of Hadoop Administrator.

* Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle from design through to testing and release.

* Experience troubleshooting Linux Memory.

* Knowledge of infrastructure systems such as Networks, Firewalls and authentication

* Experience of Hadoop components will be preferred but not essential.

* Puppet experience would be highly advantageous.

* Knowledge of protocols such as: LDAP, DNS, TP/IP

* Enterprise level experience with Active Directory

* Excellent load-balancing skills.

The Data Administrator role will be based in Cambridge.

The Data Administrator role will pay a salary in the region of £38,000-£50,000 depending on experience and background.
