SQL Database Administrator - Northallerton - £40,000

I am working on a role with the largest manufacturing companies in the world. Looking for a SQL Database Administrator to join their business intelligence and SQL team, based in Northallerton this position is a permanent role paying upto £40,000.

In this role the key responsibilities will include:

Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security

Investigate problems and collect performance statistics and create reports.

Configuration, installing, securing and maintaining database software and databases

Performance tuning and optimisation of all databases and queries that are causing blocking/performance issues.

Key focus on Database security, Traces, Events and Profiler to prevent any issues within the SQL databases.

Essential Skills

* Experience with administering Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016, including clustering and Always on High Availability

* Understanding of SQL Server Backup/Restore procedures

* Ability to manage and provision SQL users and permissions according to best practice.

* Strong knowledge of writing and understanding SQL Queries

* Knowledge of SQL database design

* Disaster Recovery and Rollback procedures

Desirable Skills

* Experience with SSIS / SSRS

* Experience of SQL within and ERP environment

* Data warehousing standards

* Database monitoring software
