Hardware Breakfix Engineer to be based in Northampton on an initial 6 Month contract. Experienced Breakfix Hardware Engineer.
Job Title - Hardware Breakfix Engineer
Location - Northampton
Rate - £ 16 per hour
Duration - 3 Months
Description:
* To provide Hardware Break fix (PC's) for the banking clients customers.
Break fix Services include:
Carry out equipment break-fix on all Hardware, Laptops/Desktops
* Diagnose hardware faults (mostly Lenovo product)
* Ordering/management/return of replacement parts
* Repair desktop hardware using ordered parts
The build and configuration of PC's from a pre-defined build image, including downloading and testing of customer profiles and applications
To Schedule installations with customers
To perform customer acceptance testing
Provide timely updates into our provisioning toolset
To install desktop equipment and re-test
Provide basic training, and support where required
To perform delivery of requests within SLA
Provide high levels of customer service when working in a highly pressurized environment
Promote standard desktop products
Constantly seeking to be more efficient in order to improve our services and reduce costs where possible
Provide advice and guidance to users
Undertake ad hoc projects as agreed with the management team on behalf of Desktop Services
Show an outward commitment to actively develop personal knowledge
Comply with all Client standard working practices, policies and procedures
Liaise with 2nd & 3rd line teams to ensure resolution of complex IT issues, to ensure delivery of service to the business
Technically assess all IT changes that can affect the working environment. (Change management)
Essential Skills / Experience:
Experience of working in an Investment Banking environment
Front Office (Trade Floor) experience preferable
Very good understanding of Windows operating systems
Strong administrative skills (queue management)
Experience of working to set service level targets
Ability to prioritize against demand
Positive attitude
Confident
Working under pressure and to aggressive timeframes
Multi tasking skills essential
Excellent time management and task planning
'Right first time' approach
Flexible working attitude
Can work as part of a large team and on an individual basis
IMAC / Break-fix experience essential
Printer maintenance/fix/deployment experience essential
Desired Qualification:
ITIL Foundation
