One of the largest players in the car interiors market, both on a UK and global scale, already present in 25 countries and producing record high sales in 2017 of 5,037 million, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their expanding team based in their state of the art manufacturing facility in Huyton, Merseyside.This Engineer role involves maintaining all plant, equipment and facilities, supporting production with repairs in the event of a breakdown and any installation work, also to support all continuous improvement work as required throughout the facility and will receive a very competitive salary with benefits including ‘early finish Fridays’.
As a Maintenance Engineer your duties will include:
Responsibility for completing planned maintenance schedules, ensuring all machines are handed back to production, safe and fit for purpose, complete relevant paperwork and report and rectify any faults found over and above the schedule.Responsibility for the inspection, fault finding and rectification of problems to equipment and hand back the equipment safe and fit for purpose, complete relevant paperwork and inform production and management of any impending failure to the plant ensuring that equipment is safe at all times.Carrying out electrical and mechanical isolations for employees safety and follow current regulations and guidelines applicable to the position.Managing the CMM system.Implementing continuous improvement plans and projects.Generating reports as and when required for the Operations Manager.Ensuring the plant is a safe and healthy place to work by carrying out the actions of the HSE Committee and workplace inspections as directed by the Operations Manager. To be a successful Maintenance Engineer you will have the following skills and experience:
Responsibility for the health and safety of themselves and others around them.Good health and safety knowledge working with electrics and machinery and responsibility for ensuring actions from the HSE committee and workplace inspections are completed.Apprentice served, electrical biased, minimum HNC.Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, PLC and large plant.Knowledge of ABB Robot Program.Previous automotive manufacturing experience.Good IT skills. The Maintenance Engineer will be working rotating shifts 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm / 10pm to 6am (earlier finishes on Friday for every shift), and in return will receive a salary £32,000 - £38,000 (depending on experience) per annum.
