Tasks to be performed:
Manage the configuration of the platform: Arrays, Pools, Ranks, Logical Control Units
(LCUs), IO ports and Volume definitions.
Dispatch LCUs over the different PR/SM partitions and provide the changes to perform
into the z/OS configuration.
Peer to Peer Remote Copy (PPRC) Administration.
Generate via REXX procedures all necessary PPRC commands to manage the
synchronous copy between Primary and Secondary devices.
Perform the XRC customization including journals and control datasets definitions and tune from time to time XRC parameters.
Adapt the REXX procedures when needed.
Determine the need to define Virtual Record Specification (VRS) and perform the
operation.
Clean-up of DFRMM.
Monitor and react upon monitoring of Storage Management System (SMS) and
Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM), including space management, incremental
backups and dump cycles, to prevent outages and performance deterioration.
Maintain SMS shared Access Control System (ACS) routines, management and data
classes.
Maintain system parameter libraries.
DFRMM housekeeping.
System volume and catalogue backup management.
