Title: Oracle DBA

Duration:6/12 Months

Key Responsibilities

·Understand functional, technical and operational aspects of the current MI reports produced for Wifi contracts and holistically for Wifi Consumer.

·Work closely with Operations manager(s) to understand the functionality required in the captive MI reports and contract specific requirements.

·Design the technical details for building the MI reporting related to operational SLAs and volumetric for each partner

·Develop the code, macros and related documentation for implementing the technical design.

·Roll-out the reports into BAU operations.

·Support on-going changes- in terms of enhancements or issue resolutions.

·Work under the guidance of the Business manager to provide point and tactical automation using scripts and tools etc. to improve accessibility of MIS to the wider team.

·Ensure all requests are handled within required service standard

·Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and customers alike.

·Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the role, and take responsibility for own learning.

Skills and experience

The role holder will be provided with both ‘on the job’ and formal training opportunities but would be advantageous to have :

Experience and knowledge of Oracle database technology, particularly some experience as an Oracle application DBA.

Competent use of SQL, PL/SQL and SQL*Plus

Competent with Linux platform user and administration activities, including Linux scripting language.

Experience in software development (ideally either Java or Ruby), with good software engineering practice (eg. TDD, Agile principles, automated deployment etc.)

Experience and competence in turning business requirements into technical design and implementation

Being able to work in a tightly integrated team of software developers, contributing to the team objectives and best practice.

Being innovative and resourceful in finding solutions and able to work independently when required.

Being able to take full ownership of tasks and complete them being mindful of project deadlines, escalating issues appropriately.

Experience in working in a diverse and fast paced work environment.
