Java Developer - Java 8 Hibernate Spring - AGILE Pair Programming - Investment Bank

Java Developer with Java 8 - J2SE, OO design, Hibernate, Spring RDBMS - ideally oracle, Testing ideally Mockito. This a great opportunity to work in a truly agile team using the full spectrum of XP practices, including pair programming, in a fast-paced but controlled environment; the team is responsible for Bond Reference Data . Must have Solid commercial experience of development with Java 8 - J2SE. Previous experience of working with databases and writing SQL. An understanding of agile development practices and ideally relevant previous experience of working within an Agile/XP team. Object Oriented Design, Hibernate, Spring, RDBMS, ideally Oracle, Automated unit and acceptance testing - ideally Mockito. Desirables: Web development, REST webservice. Javascript, Angular JS, Html5. Linux. FIT

Responsibilities

                                                                                 Contribute with other developers to technical analysis, design, development and automated unit and acceptance testing

                                                                                 Work with business analysts to turn user stories into working and tested system increments

                                                                                 Contribute to iteration planning, by providing high and low level estimates

                                                                                 Maintain consistency and quality of the code, and shared understanding of the system

                                                                                 Contribute to the development of the system and the process at retrospectives.

                                                                                 Support the system (including out of hours support, based on rota)

The team comprises 11 developers, 4 business analysts and a project manager across 2 locations (London and Mumbai). The project is truly Agile with: user stories, iterative development, frequent releases, collective ownership of the code, pair programming, TDD, automated unit and acceptance testing, etc. A great opportunity for someone to get into investment banking.
