Monitoring Analyst

We are recruiting a Monitoring Analyst to join an engineering organisation based in Portsmouth. In this role you will maintain and enhance the functionality of the suite of tools necessary to monitor the IT infrastructure platforms in use across the business.

Responsibilities

* Manage third party relationships to achieve desired functionality across adopted monitoring products.

* Enhance operational capability of adopted monitoring products.

* Support operations staff with high level fault management and rectification across the infrastructure.

* Identify and suggest enhancements and improvements to monitoring solutions to achieve better, more agile processes and procedures.

* Detect poor performing areas and liaise with operational and project teams in order to formulate a solution.

* Responsible for leading investigations and highlighting areas of concern through analysis of performance data and setting out actions plans for resolution.

* Work closely with transition teams during application on boarding process to ensure systems are monitored as per customer requirements.

* Support operations staff with high level administration tasks across the infrastructure as required and dictated by best practice.

* Recognise and act pro-actively to exploit future opportunities or to avoid and mitigate future issues.

* Work with the technical architecture team in future design process.

* Production of operational and technical documentation to agreed standards.

Key Skills

* System Center Operations Manager / System Center Configuration Manager.

* Windows 7, 10, Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2 and 2016 operating systems.

* UNIX / Linux Server experience.

* Active Directory / Group Policy / DNS / SQL Server / Network Infrastructure / VMWARE.

* PowerShell / T-SQL / VBScript

* TCP/IP and other commonly used protocols such as SMTP, HTTP.

* Dash boarding / Reporting tools.

* Windows Event Forwarding.

* Ability to produce high quality operational and technical reference documentation.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain UK MOD Security Clearance (SC).
