Linux Engineer- Manchester £45K- Linux/ c++/ HAL/ Windows32/ Winsock

This is an exciting opportunity for a Linux Engineer to join My clients team based in Manchester. In return for their efforts, the candidate will receive a competitive salary and benefits and will be supported to grow their career and knowledge within the company.

The role

?

You will help maintain and support the Linux HAL system.

?

You will be able to provide support to customers, both internal and external, on Linux. Which is there user mode application which communicates with various pieces of hardware.

?

You will plan projects and take responsibility for the delivery. Making sure that risks, issues, resource needs or external co-ordination are brought to the attention of the relevant people in a timely fashion.

?

You will implement estimates and work towards meeting this deadline on time. This includes working outside normal contracted hours to meet product delivery and forms part of taking responsibility for delivering the project.

You will report progress and issues in writing when needed.

?

Some internationally travel maybe required for time to time.

?

You will test product so that it enters the product assurance process with minimal defects.

?

You will adhere to in-house, project coding, design styles, tools and methodologies.

?

You will also highlight areas where the design, architecture and procedures can be improved and if required implement these changes.

Skills

?Strong experience of using Linux

?Strong experience of using c++ and c#

?Device protocol experience including USB, Rs232 and RS485

?Strong windows 32 API

?Strong windows sockets

?Computer science Degree in software engineering or other related discipline
