Network Specialist
Our internationally recognised client is an IT managed services company and is looking for a Network Specialist to join their team in South Birmingham. This is a diverse role with the opportunity to get involved with a lot of project work as well as support. The networks support team provides services to a wide range of customers across all sectors. Each team member is able to support multiple customers.
As a Network Specialist you will be required to:
*Action, update and resolve logged support incidents in line with SLA commitments
* Carry out regular system checks, deploy approved system changes and conduct appropriate system housekeeping activities
*Management and administration of backup systems
*Produce and update support documentation and regular reports
*Provide support for Business Continuity activities
*Participate in a rota for out-of-hours support
The Network Specialist will ideally have exposure to:
*Demonstrable experience in the design, management and support of Cisco Networks in customer Data Centers environment
*Corporate LAN and WAN data networks and network security (Cisco ASA/FWSM, CheckPoint, Juniper, Palo Alto).
*Design, management and support of Cisco Networks, switching (i.e. VLANS, STP, Stacking) and routing (i.e. Nexus 2/5K, C6500, C7600, OSPF, BGP, MPLS), in customer Data Centers environments.
*VPN technologies (Cisco, CheckPoint, Palo Alto).
*Load balancing solutions (F5, BlueCoats, Loadbalancer.org).
*Current CCNA or CCNP qualification.
