Description:

Network Security Engineer required by our client who collaborate with several of the UK VAR's, SI's and MSP's providing Network Security, Project Consultancy on Enterprise Networks for a range of clients in multiple sectors including Defence, the NHS, Corporate, Enterprise, Government, Public Sector and Education.

Project work will be South East based, and this will involve travel in and around the UK South East and Home Counties area however - when not on site based project work you will be working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Network Security Engineer you will require a Consultative DNA and be a confident communicator impacting and influencing the wider partner team that are deployed onsite to drive through to completion Network Security projects.

Securing this position you will enhance the client's established Enterprise Network Services Project Engineering Team and will become a key player offering Solution Architecting, Network Design, High & Low Level Network Design Creation and Network Solution Development as well as the pursuit of Engineering Best Practices, Standards, Implementation, Commissioning and Testing.

The Network Security Engineer will have the following skills:

* CCNP Security, JNCI or equivalent skill level with VCP are highly desirable qualifications.

* You must have experience in Cisco Routing & Switching in a Data Centre environment - experience in high and low level design of large enterprise networks

* Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, Checkpoint Security skills including ISE and 802.1x are essential

* Cisco, HP & Dell Networking specifically Cisco Nexus knowledge of Network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, Cisco Prime and others will be key expertise.

* VMware NSX Skills desirable (VCE CxBlock)

* Troubleshooting and diagnostics of TCP/IP v4 & v6, DHCP, DNS, BGP, MPLS, VPLS

* EVPN, VLANS, OSPF, IS-IS, Firewalls, IVPNS, Routing) as well as VMWare vSphere (v5.5+) administration and design coupled with solution build and implementation skills

* You will need Network & Security experience working for, and within a large enterprise, technology vendor or systems integrator, designing, and implementing data network solutions and possess strong analytical/organizational skills.

* You will have in-depth knowledge of Cisco Switched Layers 2 & 3 and Cisco Routers 3925E, 2951, 1921, ASR1K, CRS-1/4/8 Use of BGP& MPLS for Routing in Large-Scale Data Centres

* SDN skills will be desirable, Cisco ACI particularly, Fabric Path, Citrix SDN

* Ability to produce accurate technical documents to include network diagrams, implementation plans, migration plans, etc.

* Experience performing network data captures and analysis with tools such as Wireshark, Corvil, etc.

* Experience working in a Data Centre, DC architecture and issues related to data centre networks.

* Experience with managing change control processes and maintenance activity in a 24x7 production environment.

* Lead and participate in group projects with global as well as regional team members.

* Experience of working in an ITIL environment is highly beneficial
