Python Developer (UNIX Linux C / C++). Would you like to work on complex, technically challenging systems for a global leading finance technology giant, with continual learning opportunities within a supportive and diverse environment?

Joining the data feeds team, as a Python Developer you will be responsible for the triage and resolution of production issues as well as the rollout of production software, ensuring the development lifecycle is smooth, software quality standards are met and rollouts are seamless. The data feeds are written in C / C++ and run on Solaris and Linux platforms using varying network technologies. There's a number of projects in the pipeline including the development of a new ticketing system; the migration from Solaris to Linux and the introduction of CI/CD architecture.

You'll drive capacity planning and performance analysis as well as diving into troubleshooting and resolving any unexpected or potential service problems, including writing the software to prevent the same problem happening again.

You'll be based in amazing City offices with open plan desk space, breakout areas, quiet spaces and a range of onsite facilities such as a free fully stocked food hall area.

Requirements:

*Strong Python coding skills with a good knowledge of OOP

*Strong scripting skills

*Strong knowledge of UNIX / Linux OS

*Good knowledge of Version Control best practices; git, Github Enterprise

*A passion for performance excellence, robustness and an engineering mind-set

*Strong analysis and problem solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

*Degree educated, Computer Science preferred
