Hadoop Developer, Cambridge, up to £50,000

Are you an experienced BI Analyst looking to move into a Big Data environment and learn new skills? Then this could be the role for you. We are looking for a Hadoop Developer to join this international organisation and assist in improving the integrity and accessibility of data within the company.

You will come from a strong database background with experience continuous improvement and development of database environments.

Responsibilities of the Hadoop Developer:

* Provide design expertise for the delivery of new database developments. Provide specifications and carry out work to defined timescales and within budget.

* Work closely with the team to build architectural solutions.

* Ensure that the programme of work follows closely the pre-agreed specifications.

* Provide progress reports on the project work you are assigned to.

* Investigate and test new technologies that could improve internal systems.

* Take ownership of the delivery standards and adhere to agile methodologies.

* Provide mentorship to those less senior and without the same level of technical expertise.

Skill set, and background needed for the Hadoop Developer:

* Ideally you will have experience with Hadoop but strong experience as a Business Intelligence analyst looking to move into big data will be considered.

* Experience of developing in SQL, SSRS and SSIS.

* Advanced knowledge of ETL Processes.

* Experience working in an agile environment

* Knowledge of Linux and/or Hadoop will be highly desirable.

The Hadoop Developer role will be based in Cambridge although there will be opportunities, once settled in the role, for flexible working.

The Hadoop Developer role will pay in the region of £37,000-£51,000.
