Job Summary

To provide first and second line technical and user IT support, either in person, by email or by telephone, using remote assistance tools where appropriate.

Service Delivery:

*To provide first and second line technical and user support, either in person, by email or by telephone, using remote assistance tools where appropriate

*To install and upgrade School-owned hardware for, including PCs, Apple Macs laptops, printers and peripherals; and to record all installations, moves and disposals, updating the relevant inventory

*To install and upgrade the computing desktop, including the installation of non-standard software and transfer of data files, where required

*To resolve as many calls as possible at first response, and to log and refer as required all support calls in the call logging system, ensuring users receive a high quality service as defined in published service levels

*To manage IT accounts for users, in line with IT Services policies and procedures

*To respond to and track progress of all support calls in the call logging system, and to keep users apprised of progress when requests for assistance cannot be resolved within the defined resolution times

Knowledge & Experience:

*To have the knowledge and skills required to provide first and second line technical and user IT support

*To have the knowledge and skills required to install and upgrade hardware and software for desktop computing
