UX Designer

Location: Yorkshire - Shipley Salary: Up to £70,000

Type: Permanent Level: Mid- Senior

As part of a multidisciplinary agile team you'll be involved in supporting this companies vision to help our customers achieve their digital transformation objectives by providing innovative digital integration, insight, expertise and solutions.

Your day to day responsibilities:

* Design accessible public services that are simple enough for everyone to use. Demonstrating that you understand user needs and how to design services that meet them

* Work with user researchers and front-end developers to turn concepts into user-centred services

* Design user-centred interfaces and transaction flows

* Create and iterate prototypes to test and communicate ideas

* Ensure that the design of services is consistent with the customer's portfolio of services

* Be excited by the challenge of creating digital services that work across multiple channels, devices, browsers and platforms

* Be able to see the bigger picture as well as the fine detail and be able to sketch in code as well as on paper.

Requirements include:

* Knowledge and experience of designing accessible, secure, responsive user interfaces

* Ability to sketch and prototype on paper and in HTML

* Ability to work quickly in an agile environment

* Ability to explain ideas in a way that other people understand

* Ability to constructively review the work of others

* Knowledge of how to interpret user research

* A basic understanding of typography

* An appreciation of how form and function work together

* Knowledge of how to remove complexity from services

* Ability to write for user interfaces

* Confidence and ability to explain design decisions and be able to represent a service at a service assessment

* A collaborative approach to tasks within in a multidisciplinary team

* Knowledge of how the internet works

* A design related degree, or relevant industry experience
