Network Tooling Engineer - Basingstoke - 6 Month Contract

My client, a large technology and outsourcing organisation are looking for a Network Tooling Engineer for a LAN tech refresh project on a 6 month contract basis. The role will be based on site in Basingstoke and can offer a competitive daily rate.

Role information:

* Develop the Network Tooling on the LAN Tech Refresh Project to assist carrying out the required automation of the Network switch configuration. Develop the tooling for online and offline use to enable the automation of Pre Staging of the switches to allow for speedily pre-built machines to be dispatched to site.

* Due to the volume required to meet the deadline, this will enable the auto creation switch configuration which meets the site specific standards set out by the Network designer.

Required Skills:

* Extensive experience in network design and implementation.

* In-depth knowledge of network tooling and automation techniques.

* Ability to use a variety of toolsets to script and deploy network device configurations.

* VB and Access coding

* Experience in scripting (Perl, VB, Python, HTML/CGI).

* Experience in Linux and Windows Administration

* Appreciation of the L2/L3 setup used to deliver the network

* Understand the Cisco and Juniper configuration

* Candidates should also hold an active SC Clearance or be eligible and willing to undergo the process.
