Network Engineer (Switch Specialist)

Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Network Engineer for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £300-350/day (outside of IR35) based in Edinburgh

Responsibilities:

* Configuration of HPE (Procurve, Comware) and Aruba Switches across the organisation's estate.

* They are on the SWAN Network with the Network Routing provided on the Routers so the majority of switch configuration is Layer 2.

* The specialist will review, make recommendations, and once approved will make changes to live switches on the organisation's various LAN's while documenting changes and sharing this knowledge with the team.

* The specialist will also configure and test new switch configurations before deployment.

* Updating of reporting tools (Icinga and HP IMC).

Requirements:

* A clear understanding of network topologies and protocols.

* Experience in configuring networks switches from the command line, preferably on HPE and Aruba Switches.

* Experience to include IRF Stacking and Link Aggregation between switches.

* A recognised certification in Network Technologies I.e. CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, CMNO (Cisco), ACMA, ACMP (Aruba) or HOLK6S (HP) is desirable.
