An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and forward thinking individual to join the largest support services UK organisation based in Keynsham, near Bristol, at Senior Management level leading the Engineering Programme Management Group.

You will lead a team of 65 highly professional engineers, responsible for developing engineering and technicians in a range of engineering support services. This is an integral position in an organisation that is leading the delivery of In Service Support on one of the most complex engineering challenges today.

Key Responsibilities

* Leading and providing strategic direction for the Engineering Programme Management Group

* Ensuring coherence across the overall Engineering Programme Management Group Portfolio of work through the establishment and management of adherence against a clear set of published processes and procedures for each output.

* Managing and Delivering Engineering Programme Management Group offering and contracted outputs to agreed Time, Cost and Quality targets.

* Support the implementation of the overall strategy for the development of our Engineering Services (including the development of Engineering Capability) to support to our main customer

Successful candidate requirements:

* Hold a minimum of a second class degree or comparable academic standard in an appropriate engineering discipline.

* Be a Full Member with an appropriate Engineering professional body.

* Be a registered as a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council.

* Have significant experience as an engineering manager or experienced in an engineering management role within a large project.

* Have a strong background in MoD working practices, naval platform / system / equipment safety, design, operation and support management, including appropriate submarine specific experience.

* Be capable of working professionally and objectively at a senior level, leading a project across multiple stakeholders and providing a clear project management focus.

* Have a strong ability to communicate effectively with both internal and customer staff at all levels, including senior management.

* Be proficient in the use of appropriate Project Management & IT tools (especially MS Project, Excel and Word).
