Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Contract - Gloucestershire - Excellent - DV Cleared

This is a role for a IT team with an opportunity for personal development. The job holder will be responsible for the design, implementation, management and support of IT platform infrastructures, the support and management of the business applications and to develop and deliver enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

* To support and manage platforms and infrastructure.

* To support and manage the business support applications, and to develop and deliver enhancements or new capability.

* Design, supervise and participate in the implementation of technologies and platforms supporting a complex corporate data infrastructure.

* Deploy and manage Virtual IT infrastructures, including: Servers, desktops, switches, LAN's routers, firewalls etc.

* To maintain and support development and reference systems.

* Document the design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures.

* To comply with and enforce Client IT security policy.

* To contribute to IT Department project work as required.

* To comply with health and safety and emergency procedures.

Skills / Experience Essential:

* Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in an IT discipline and/or one of the following; MCSE, certification

* 4 Years + experience designing and implementing IT infrastructure / systems development environment

* Excellent IT skills with working knowledge of VMWare, Cisco, SQL Server, Oracle and Windows Servers

* Good verbal and written communication skills

* Customer focused approach

Skills / Experience Desirable:

* CCNA

* NetApp experience

* SCCM

* Understanding/experience of developing applications using Remedy, PL SQL, Oracle Forms and Visual Basic

* Strong time management and project planning skills with an ability to prioritise
