Key Responsibilities:

* To ensure the Trust complies with specific legislation, national guidance and best practice within information security and the General Data Protection regulation particularly in respect of the requirements of the Information Governance Toolkit and other Trust wide policies so that they conform to current national directives and legislation, and are internally consistent.

* Ensure that identified information threats and vulnerabilities are followed up for risk mitigation, and that perceived or actual information incidents are managed in accordance with NHS IG requirements.

* The post holder will be expected to have access to the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Managers should a security breach occur with potential impact on Trust services or patient care.

* Ensure that there are effective mechanisms in place for reporting and managing Serious Incidents Requiring Investigation (SIRIs) relating to the information of the organisation. These mechanisms will accommodate operational or procedural improvements arising from lessons learnt and potentially working with the Security Architect for technical guidance and proposals

* To lead investigations into all suspected breaches of Information Security and respond appropriately so that action can be taken if necessary, using the Security Architect for any technical guidance.

Extensive experience in :

o Working in the NHS

o Health Records Management and working with associated legislation and guidance

o Development of strategy and policy

o Staff management and supervision, prioritising team workloads and training others in areas of personal competence.

o Service delivery and management, implementing policies and procedures in support of strategic business planning.

o Using of Microsoft Office

o NHS Information Governance Standards

o 5 years Data Protection uplifted to GDPR
