IT Operations manages the IT infrastructure and supporting services that are critical for HSBC employees and customers, such as cost-efficient hardware, system software, middleware and databases, data centres, voice and data networks, ATMs, desktops and other devices.

It employs around 8,500 employees globally and comprises five functions: Client Services, Enterprise Services and Architecture, Data Centre and Service Management, Relationship Management, Project Management and PMO, and Risk and Administration. Collectively, these areas define and deliver HSBC's technology strategy to support the Group's goals.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Email Engineer.

In this role, you will:

* Act as a Global Subject Matter Expert for email technologies, primarily Microsoft Exchange

* Help define Exchange product roadmaps and keep other areas of HSBC informed about the Technological infrastructure capabilities available

* Support new email large scale projects and initiatives aimed at IT optimization & cost reduction

* Increase user productivity & security, support business growth or meet regulatory requirements

* Ensure that the Exchange email service is running at optimal performance globally

* Lead incident management escalation and crisis calls related to Exchange technical issues impacting the email service globally

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

* Extensive experience of supporting and engineering Exchange Email environments as part of a large organisation.

* Expert working and engineering knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 and later on large deployments

* Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Active Directory PowerShell modules

* Strong working knowledge of network topologies and protocols, specifically Domain Name System (DNS), load balancing, routing and Network Address Translation (NAT)
