A Design Assurance Engineer II is required in my client's European Centre of Innovation, located close to Galway City. My client hold a portfolio of 13,000 products. They're at the forefront of the medical device industry. Their presence in Galway extends almost 25 years and continues to be one of the most highly regarded medical technology leaders in Ireland.

Your profile:

You enjoy working on various projects. You're a quality/design/development professional with 5+ years' experience in the healthcare (medical device / pharma / diagnostics) industry. You have strong working knowledge of current regulatory standards in a medical device / ISO 13485 industry, applicable in a design-orientated role.

You might feel you have plateaued in your current position, and opportunities are limited internally. You might be doing activities that are above & beyond your call of duty, and want to work in a company that rewards this. You might be a working in a design/development orientated position and thinking of facing a new challenge in the medical device industry.

The role:

As Design Assurance Engineer II, you will be fulfilling the quality assurance responsibilities of the company's product development and related sustaining engineering activities. This will include some of the following:

* Interfacing with other departments in a project team environment providing technical and Quality systems input to the team.

* Providing quality and technical input to the design reviews, project development/ design change/recertification plans, risk management, design verification/validation protocols and reports, for new development projects as well as design/process changes to existing product lines.

* Using validation techniques, risk management, statistical techniques and compliance to regulatory requirements. Responsible for the compilation of design verification/validation protocols, reports and design/quality documentation supporting product development/sustaining engineering projects.

* Providing design quality support in complaints investigation, CAPAs, regulatory requirement changes.

* Updating Quality policies to ensure compliance with Product Development needs and relay this information to the Product Development Group.

* Giving technical guidance to Design Assurance Engineers (level I), Graduate Design Assurance Engineers and Design Assurance Technicians, supervising and developing them in line with departmental and project goals.
