About the role:
Our big data platform is built on top of the HortonWorks Data Platform.
We expect the Senior System Engineer to have in-depth knowledge on, or engineering experience with the following technologies in a secured context (kerberized clusters), whereas it is a plus if this experience is based on the HortonWorks Data Platform distribution:
Linux operating system (Red Hat Enterprise Linux is a plus)
Scripting languages (Perl, Python and Bash)
Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux)
As an engineer, you have experience with the following technology and infrastructure services, understanding their concepts, are experienced in using these services (regardless of the actual technology that implements it) and understand how these services play a role in the integration and servicing of the environment:
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
Virtualization (operating system, application as well as containerized)
Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprises (SAFe)
IT Governance (ITIL, COBIT)
Centralized authentication (Active Directory/LDAP and Kerberos)
Backup/Restore (Symantec NetBackup)
Resource & Workload Management
Monitoring and Event Handling
Application Performance Management
Network Segmentation and Firewalling
You have experience with servicing in an enterprise context that is actively working with the following concepts or processes:
Public cloud services (Azure / AWS)
Databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, Oracle)
Windows Server
Web application servers (Tomcat/JBoss, IIS)
Application integration/ESB (Kafka)
