Digital Project Manager

The UK's leading digital and social inclusion charity. Our digital team is at the heart of delivering our aim to do good things with technology. This position is a key role to ensure the Digital team can deliver our ambitious programme to make a difference on people's lives. With experience of managing and delivering successful and complex digital / technology programmes, you will take the lead for the Digital Team to plan, scope and deliver the work of the team. You will champion the innovative use of digital products within and outside our organisation.

You will have excellent communication, leadership and management skills, coupled with experience of successfully applying programme and change management to deliver complex and innovative projects. You will also have experience of managing the delivery of digital projects using Agile techniques.

Your responsibilities will include:

*Plan and communicate to the Digital Team the work programme

*Communicate and negotiate with stakeholders

*Prepare and monitor budgets to support the Digital team's programme of work

*Support the Head of Digital in developing the long term strategy for the team

*Resource planning against our longer term roadmap

*Monitor progress and provide regular reports to the Head of Digital

*Highlight risks and issues and provide solutions for mitigation

*Prioritisation and allocation of systems issues for resolution

*Develop the Digital team processes to meet requirements

*Proactively running recruitment programmes for the Digital Team, attending events to network and attract staff, developing career structure, developing internships

*Support the Head of Digital in embedding Agile development processes and Lean product management that works for the whole organisation

*Support, mentor and coach junior members of the team

*Deputise for the Head of Digital as required

*Lead contribution to bid development for the digital team

*Network with the industry - Tech for Good networks, local, national and international networks - to understand and benchmark good practice

You will have experience of:

*Risk and resource management and planning in a digital environment

*Managing stakeholder (both internal and external) expectations

*Recruiting, developing and getting the best from digital teams

With the following knowledge and skills:

*Excellent planning and organisational skills

*Strong commercial understanding and awareness

*Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

*Excellent verbal and written communication skills enabling engagement at all levels

*A strong understanding of the approaches and techniques needed to develop the skills, competencies and the effectiveness of teams

*Clear willingness to intervene or assist in the activities of the team where circumstances demand

*A demonstrable understanding of Agile techniques for digital product development

*An understanding of digital technology, architecture and software development techniques
