Back-end Software Developer to join growing company focused on solutions in health, at Harwell Campus leading science combo of world-class science facilities and industrial R&D to create world changing innovations.

As Back-end Software Developer you will be responsible for:

The server side of our mobile/web applications for healthcare digital solutions

Working closely with our IT engineers and with the R&D team, both to ensure system consistency and to improve user experience.

Participating in the entire software development lifecycle, focusing on coding, and debugging

Troubleshooting and debugging applications

Collaborating with front-end SW developers and R&D team

Gathering and addressing technical and design requirements

Following emerging technologies

To be considered for the Back-end Software Developer you will need to:

Have proven work experience as a back-end SW developer (OOP - RESTful API)

Have an in-depth understanding of the entire SW development process (design, development, and deployment)

Have a good background in Mathematics and SW development/implementation of algorithms

Have hands-on experience with PHP and Python, and ideally C#

Have some familiarity with "Laravel" and "Slim "PHP framework

Have some familiarity with PostgreSQL

Have excellent analytical and time management skills

Be a strong team player with good problem-solving ability

Nice to have:

o A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subjects is preferred

o Experience on Unit testing (PHPUnit) and CI/CD

o Geo-spatial and spatial location data handling (e.g. Web Map Services)

o Unit-test experience for robustness, edge cases, usability, and reliability
