Finance Business Partner - Nottingham / Coventry - 4 months
Our client in the utilities industry requires a Finance Business Partner with strong strategic planning, projects and financial reporting experience. This role is based in Nottingham / Coventry, with travel to either site on a 4 month contract.
The role: You will be responsible for providing financial & commercial business partnering support to the business, acting as the finance interface on B&CS Energy Strategic Planning, Project support and Reporting.
You will lead your team to deliver quality financial support to senior business stakeholders, ensuring the insight your team provides helps to shape the commercial decisions of the business area, driving commercial performance & delivery of the financial plan.
Responsibilities
* Acting as Commercial Financial partner to the Energy Sales, Commercial and Transformation leadership teams.
* Using external market information, competitor insight and business performance to produce credible strategic plans and insight.
* Leading a team of senior analysts in developing strategic business plans, forecasting and reporting models, challenging where appropriate.
* Quickly developing innovative solutions to challenges posed in an ever-evolving Energy business.
* Managing production of monthly directors and board reports.
* Owning the EBIT outturn forecasts and risks & opportunities and drive awareness and conscious management & control of key financial risks.
* Driving the B&CS Energy EBIT mid-term planning process, monthly reporting, quarterly re-forecasting for your business.
* Partnering the ABP Energy accounting and planning and investment controlling teams, providing commentary and analysis for reporting to UK and Group boards.
* Responsible for development and succession planning within your team.
Key Skills:
* Degree educated and/or relevant professional or accounting qualification.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at Senior Leadership & Director level.
* Ability to lead and develop a high performing finance team
* Experience in driving commercial delivery, with ability to highlight and manage key commercial risks
* Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills
* A pro-active and creative approach to problem solving. Demonstrate passion for the business.
* Self-motivated with the ability to build excellent working relationships with various parts of the business
* Ability to understand the technical aspects of an Energy Business
* Numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and present in a clear and logical format.
* Good levels of financial and commercial acumen
* Experience of translating information into financial models and challenging assumptions
* Proven financial business modelling skills utilising Microsoft Excel with a history of using the analysis to influence decisions
* The ability to consistently support decision makers and produce high quality work to tight deadlines
