A rapidly expanding, award winning digital agency are currently seeking an enthusiastic full-time PHP developer to become part of a growing, young and ambitious team based in the centre of York.

We work with organisations all over the world, from small one-man businesses to international conglomerates. You will be joining their current team of 18 working in a friendly and informal environment, on both client projects and their own products. The ideal candidate will fit seamlessly into what is a very ambitious and growing agency.

You will be working on bespoke websites and web applications both independently and as part of a team, therefore the ability to use your initiative is a must in what is a fast paced and ever changing environment. You should have experience working with MySQL, OOP, MVC and a PHP framework such as Laravel (or be willing and keen to learn with direction).

We use a cutting-edge tech stack including the latest versions of PHP, Laravel and Elastic Search. We have zero-downtime deployment set up on several projects and take advantage of Travis CI to ensure our code is consistently stable. We are a fast moving team and as such, allow our developers to shape our workflow if you can demonstrate improvement.

The company are happy to speak with recent graduates, self-taught developers and experienced professionals. No qualifications are essential to this position, but an ability to demonstrate your work is.

Essential Requirements:

OO PHP 7 / MVC

MySQL 5.7

Git

Commercial awareness. You understand that youre spending other peoples money to solve business critical problems, not geeking out for the sake of it

Self-sufficiency: initiative, time management, multi-tasking

Desirable:

Laravel 5.5

Frontend UI development (not to fully build, but have the confidence to do small changes - HTML5, LESS, Gulp, Webpack)

Javascript/ES6

API development experience
