Contract IT Project Manager / Senior IT PMO 450 - 550 p/d (6 mths)

As a 14 year established PSL partner to this city banking institution we have been asked by the IT Programme Director (*currently on site via ourselves) to identify a hybrid Senior PMO / Project Manager to assist on a number of projects focused on the derivatives market / OTC / IRD / Interest Rate Derivatives / Swaps.

This will initially be for 6 months but the IT Programme Manager has said they will be every intention to retain someone that joins and delivers well and he sees this as an excellent opportunity for someone to progress and take on bigger pieces of work in the future.

Candidates need to be happy in a hybrid role carrying out traditional PMO type functions as well as project management and be mindful this role is supporting and easing the workload of the IT Programme Director. However robust project management skills are needed too here.

Skills / Environment

Banking / Investment banking sector experience.

IT Project management / IT Project Manager experience

PMO / Project Office / Project Support experience

Project planning

Drafting PIDs

Prince2 certification helpful.

Experience of significant IT software development projects

IT infrastructure projects experience helpful.

Understanding of the software development lifecycle.

Product understanding of any of the following really helpful:

OTC Derivatives

IRDs / Interest Rate Derivatives

Swaps

The Programme Director has mentioned that he would like to see someone in this role that has risen up from holding PMO roles that then moved into true project management roles. Also, someone happy in a hybrid role. Candidates must have IT project experience with software development project experience.
