Information Systems and Digital Services is central to where we are going as a university and what sort of experience we offer to both our professional colleagues and our students. The work we do impacts significantly on both the personal and learning experience of those who study here. We are committed to developing and maintaining highly usable, fast, flexible and personalised Information Systems services that reflect the changing needs of our growing university.

We are currently looking for an IT Portfolio Manager who is responsible for leadership, definition, delivery and realisation of portfolios of strategic and tactical change initiatives and the portfolio roadmap on behalf of one, or more, of the University’s Information Systems and Digital Services (ISDS) portfolio boards, and ultimately the University’s Information Systems Steering and Prioritisation group (ISSP).

This is a new role within ISDS and the successful candidate can expect to be leading on multiple initiatives to deliver our strategic investment roadmap, which consists of £28m of large-scale business change and technical enabling projects over the next 4 years.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of strong leadership and management of IT enabled organisational change. This must include leading portfolio visioning and execution - identifying goals and objectives and motivating and leading others towards their achievement. An in-depth understanding of the critical role of portfolio management and developing portfolio management capability in large and complex organisations is essential. Experience of engaging with senior stakeholders and adapting style to achieve successful outcomes is vital.

This is an exciting time for our IT services, in this position you can expect excellent training and development opportunities, exposure to lots of new and emerging technologies and the freedom to work in-depth on interesting technical projects in a friendly and collaborative environment. In return, the university offers a fantastic range of employee benefits including a generous pension scheme, 35 days a year of annual leave, in addition to time off over the Christmas period and bank holidays, access to the childcare voucher scheme and travel loans.

If you would like to join our people and share our ambition, we would love to hear from you.

Please use the apply links provided and attach a CV and covering letter with your application.
