Our public sector client provides a range of important public services and enforcement activities associated with and arising from personal and corporate insolvency and corporate misconduct.

As a member of the Business Analysis Team reporting to the Business Analysis Manager, this role offers an exciting opportunity for the post-holder to make their mark in an Agency that is going through a determined process of transformation and is embracing the Government Digital agenda.

You will be responsible for performing business analysis activity within projects and the IT team. The post-holder will work closely with Solution Architects, project teams, key stakeholders, suppliers and the extended IT functions of Application Development and Service Delivery. You will ensure that business needs are understood and translated into requirements that enable the selection, design, and delivery of technology enabled business solutions with innovation and customer experience at the heart of design principles.

Key Responsibilities

* The methodical investigation, analysis, review and documentation of all or part of the organisation's business, information and data related to capabilities, functions and processes.

* Production of abstract or distilled representations of real world/business situations to aid the communication and understanding of existing, conceptual or proposed solutions.

* Identification of new and alternative approaches to performing business activities and opportunities for improvement or automation.

* Adherence to corporate IT strategy and the principles of standardisation and simplification of processes and technologies.

* Capture of functional and non-functional business requirements.

* Translation of requirements to commercial terms to support procurement processes.

* Creation of viable functional specifications and acceptance criteria.

* Manage requirements through their lifecycle including traceability and version control.

* Support management of change, functional testing and assistance with implementation.

* Support the derivation of cost and benefit analysis relating to new approaches.

* Assist organisation to gain maximum benefit from IT services and solutions.

* Adhere to standards and methods for business analysis activities to support consistency and quality.

* Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis standards and methods.

* Work collaboratively with business users, third parties and other parts of IT throughout the systems implementation lifecycle.

* Support Business Analysis Manager and colleagues in identifying new and alternate approaches to performing business activities and other tasks commensurate with the post.

Skills & Knowledge

* A knowledge and understanding of agile development and delivery methodologies.

* A sound background in recognised business analysis methodologies.

* Requirements elicitation, their formulation and drafting for various contexts including commercial agreements.

* Usage of business analysis models and tools.

* Understanding of IT security, GDPR and associated regulations.

* Knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
