Unix Team Lead

A brand-new opportunity for a Unix Team Lead has arisen, working for one of the industry's truly pioneering and most established software houses. The Unix Team Lead will ensure the companies Unix-based systems, and related Linux, VMware, IBM Power, Storage infrastructure, is continually developed and running smoothly and securely.

The successful Unix Team Lead will work as part of and help lead a small expert team. Although this role is hands on, your people leadership ability is the key attribute that will enable your success.

Working as the Unix Team Lead, your role will include:

* Line management and personal development for a team of highly-technical engineers

* Helping to build effective agile team processes.

* Identifying and addressing automation opportunities through scripting and 3rd party tools.

* Providing support to Operations and Development teams and collaborating with the wider business.

Skills required for the Unix Team Lead:

* Demonstrable experience of leading, managing, mentoring and motivating a technically focused team in an enterprise environment.

* Deep knowledge of Unix, Linux, Debian or Ubuntu.

* Scripting ability and understanding of automation, with Python and Unix Shell being the preferred languages.
