You’ll act as an advocate for our business by taking ownership of all IT incidents.

The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) is a world-leading agency providing the most comprehensive range of marine geospatial information across the globe. This information is supplied to commercial shipping, defence navies and maritime organisations for the primary purpose of safe navigation and global trade efficiency. We also support other marine activities including economic development, environmental protection, resource exploration and utilisation, scientific research and security and defence.

Your challenge? To provide a focal point for the reporting and resolution of technical IT system faults and queries, including a ‘first-line fix’ service for as many incidents and queries as possible. Day-to-day, you’ll be the go to person for UKHO employees for all IT issues. We’ll also rely on you to log each incident and provide advice and technical support to fix problems, whilst also assigning incidents to the appropriate second/third line teams when appropriate. Taking responsibility for account creations, changes and remote accesses will be important too, as will monitoring quarantined emails and SPAM and managing our equipment loan pool and.

In return for your skills, as a civil service organisation with a commercial approach to conducting business, we offer a fast-paced working environment that is both goal-focussed and exceptionally supportive. You will also have the chance to adopt a flexible working pattern that will provide you with a great work/life balance. We offer creche and nursery facilities too, plus forward-thinking benefits including a great pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement and a lift-share scheme.
