IT Operations manages the IT infrastructure and supporting services that are critical for HSBC employees and customers, such as cost-efficient hardware, system software, middleware and databases, data centres, voice and data networks, ATMs, desktops and other devices.

It employs around 8,500 employees globally and comprises five functions: Client Services, Enterprise Services and Architecture, Data Centre and Service Management, Relationship Management, Project Management and PMO, and Risk and Administration. Collectively, these areas define and deliver HSBC's technology strategy to support the Group's goals.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of DevOps Engineer.

In this role, you will:

* Work across one or more application development DevOps 'pods' as the Amazon Web Services (AWS) engineer

* Build and manage cloud environments to enable application deployments

* Consume and deploy centrally provided common cloud services for business unit / application DevOps teams

* Consume centrally agreed base AMI's and develop & maintain business line specific AMI's

* Ensure compliance with centrally defined Digital Cloud blueprints, design patterns, and standards

* Build and support continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) ,and continuous testing activities

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

* Superb understanding of DevOps and Infrastructure as a Code concepts and techniques

* Strong understanding of CI/CD and available tools

* Good leadership and teamwork skills

* Excellent skills in at least one of following: Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Go, Groovy, Scala
