London is one of the most exciting and diverse cities in the world - and policing it is no easy task. It takes a huge number of people from all sorts of different backgrounds with a wide range of skills and experience, all working together to make London a safer place. This is your chance to play your part - developing ICT projects, systems and processes that help to combat terrorism.

Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) is an alliance of UK police forces working closely with security and intelligence agencies to prevent, deter and investigate terrorist activity. Our CTP HQ ICT section manages, delivers and supports the full ‘cradle to grave’ delivery of all MPS Specialist Operations (SO) and CTP ICT requirements.

For you this means to chance to provide end-to-end support to core areas across a range of ICT projects and programmes - from Business and System Analysis, ICT Architectural Design and delivery, to ICT Project and Programme Management and Testing. It’s a challenging and varied role where could find yourself involved in any stage of the ICT lifecycle (demand, design or delivery).

To succeed, you’ll ideally need to be ideally an IT Graduate with knowledge of ICT in supporting and assisting large, complex National IT project, programmes and systems throughout their lifecycle, as well as having an awareness of the unique demands and specific challenges of working within the secure domain.

You’ll also need:

- Excellent written skills, clear report writing and the ability to present information appropriately by audience.

- Experience of working within secure technology-based projects and programmes enabling business change.

- Experience and some knowledge of developing/maintaining governance, and the correct and efficient use of ICT standards across multiple projects.

- Ability to work under pressure and to turn-round communications to meet tight deadlines.

- Knowledge and some experience of managing risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.

- Project management qualification eg. PRINCE and ITIL knowledge is desirable.
