In a nutshell
As Vice President - Technology Delivery can you lead a busy and high-performing team? With accountability for development and delivery of solutions for all Virgin Atlantic business functions as well as the Technology Centre of Excellence with Virgin Holidays?
As a key member of the Technology leadership team (TLT), you'll have an impact on the senior management of Virgin Atlantic. Establishing excellent working relationships across the organisation you'll be quick to understand both the current requirements and future potential of our technology solutions.
You’ll quickly develop a deep understanding of the direction and current status of all business systems and related infrastructure. With this knowledge, you'll translate the business strategies into technology projects.
Key to your success in the role is charismatic leadership and the ability to get the best out of a diverse community of business partners, practice managers, project managers and business analysts.
Day to day
Supporting the SVP Technology and your peers on the TLT to ensure effective relationships, strategic alignment, project success, and effective budget management
Leadership of our business partnering, innovation and delivery teams. You'll inspire and develop talent, establishing a high-performance culture, and above all, making this a great place to work
Driving Technology’s capability to effectively partner with the business and our joint venture partners.
Improving capability to deliver better outcomes, faster, through development of our people, relationships, methodologies and tooling.
Furthering our innovation agenda - exploiting existing technologies and finding opportunities to help the business exploit evolving technology
Working in close partnership and collaboration with business area colleagues to define and deliver departmental strategies and projects
Mature the team’s portfolio delivery approaches working collaboratively with IT Architecture, Business Change, and IT Services & Security. Together you'll expand Technology’s agility and DevOps capabilities
Support the strategic and tactical aims of our emerging Data and Insights directorate
Develop business domain experts within the Technology team through thoughtful construction of team structures and project assignments.
We are searching for a highly motivated leader with senior leadership experience gained in a fast-paced and complex environment. Leading 7 direct reports and a team of 100, you’ll need to demonstrate inspirational leadership qualities. You’ll use your interpersonal skills to build constructive relationships within your team and across business functions. You’ll build effective teams and create a high-performance culture via your natural collaborative working style.
Educated to degree standard or equivalent, ideally within a technology-related subject you'll have the demonstrable ability to build and maintain relationships and influence your business partners. Secure and confident in your own judgement you'll challenge effectively when required.
Your willingness and ability to quickly learn about our business and values is important. This broad knowledge will be crucial to be an effective part of the strategy development and support and prioritise work across our enterprise.
