Award winning WRAP platform service provider is looking for a Systems administrator .The main duties for the IT Systems Administrator are the configuration, management and support of the local and wide area network, server and telecommunications infrastructure. Along with BAU duties for the IT Systems Administrator, they will also play a pivotal part of implementing new technology as there are a number of fantastic upcoming projects.

The client’s IT department have a new opportunity for an IT Systems Administrator to join an innovative and growing team, who also have a number of exciting Microsoft based projects upcoming as part of a wider business change programme.

The main duties for the IT Systems Administrator are the configuration, management and support of the local and wide area network, server and telecommunications infrastructure. Along with BAU duties for the IT Systems Administrator, they will also play a pivotal part of implementing new technology as there are a number of fantastic upcoming projects.

It is essential to have knowledge of Microsoft and Linux server technologies (CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise), and a detailed understanding of local and wide area networking and associated technologies.

Skills and Experience needed by the systems Administrator

Designing, installing, upgrading, controlling and maintaining all of the Windows and Linux server systems, network, voice and desktop infrastructures.

Ensuring the availability of all relevant systems, through the implementation and management of maintenance, monitoring and change control strategies.

Maintaining up to date and effective documentation on all relevant IT systems, services and procedures.

Managing user accounts and access levels.

Assisting in the Development and control of the IT security policy and associated policies.

Ensuring security on all systems and legal requirements are met.

Ensuring adherence to FCA, TCF and Data Protection regulations in relation to IT systems.

Assisting in the management and responsibility for company data ensuring that all backup and restore procedures are adhered to and effective.

Building and maintaining relationships with External and Internal contacts.

Overseeing the uninterrupted monitoring of the IT infrastructure, making sure all systems are capable of handling their given workloads and have not been compromised by any external influences.

Ensuring that any planned changes to the IT infrastructure are efficient, viable and documented in line with Change Control methodologies.

Providing regular updates and reports on workloads, planned or unplanned outages, system improvements and any other IT related issues that may affect business operation.

Knowledge of configuration management and orchestration tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef and Saltstack is essential.
