Digital Architect / Solutions Architect / Permanent / Coventry / West Midlands

My nationally known, award winning client is looking for a Digital Architect to join their IT team in Coventry, Warwickshire. The Digital Architect will form part of the IT Architecture Team within Technology and Strategy Function of my client.

Key Responsibilities:

*Accountable for overseeing development of technology strategy and roadmaps within the Application Architecture technology domain in alignment with specified requirements.

*Ensuring that the strategy related to application architecture is developed through market awareness and by building relationships with vendors to gain their inputs

*Improve business performance through solutions and capabilities including Customer Experience, Web/Cloud, IoT, Collaboration, Augmented and Virtual Reality and Edge computing

*Responsibility for maintaining artefacts related to the digital architecture technology domain

*Effectively engage and manage key stakeholder relationships collaboratively within the architecture community , the wider capabilities of Solution delivery, Service Delivery, Security (including external vendors) and within relevant business areas

*Be "trusted advisor" to a range of stakeholders. Provide consultancy and influence senior Business/ IS leadership teams. Facilitate decisions ensuring the agreed solution balances functional fit, cost, service quality and systems management requirements at a high level.

*Understand business drivers and business capability requirements and contribute to Investment Planning activity.

*Provide consultancy in the start-up phase of projects to ensure high level solution assurance as well as providing high level design assurance throughout project delivery

*Understand production plan, identify and manage project design dependencies and design decisions, and provide support for identifying resource expertise based on solution complexity and design.

*Review and challenge the high level cost of proposed solutions ensuring cost covers all aspects of technical elements, infrastructure, work breakdown and resource cost.

*Chair Design Authority for various design deliverables and ensure collaborative agreement by Security, Service and Solution Delivery on proposed design.

*Provide consultancy for Procurement and Vendor/Supplier Management for Technical Services

*Provide guidance and support to other Solution Architects.

Key Skills:

*Extensive experience of working in strategic IT roles at senior technical level.

*Experience in designing solutions to improve customer experience.

*Good knowledge of latest digital and emerging technology solutions.

*Web & Cloud architecture experience desirable.

*Proven experience in business engagement and business stakeholder management.

*Expert in using enterprise/solution architecture tools and techniques.

*Expert of architecture governance and design assurance processes.

*Proven experience of project and programme delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Bi-modal etc).

*Demonstrated understanding of architecture deliverables through the project life cycle based on complexity and timeline of projects/programmes.

*Experience of working in a multi-vendor and supplier environment.

*Good stakeholder management and influencing skills with colleagues, partners / vendors & project sponsors.
