Senior Test Analyst

Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Senior Test Analyst for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of c.£350/day (inside of IR35) based in Edinburgh.

Responsibilities:

* Lead on test design and be responsible for writing test scripts based on screen mock-ups and specifications.

* Running scripts against known iterations/software versions.

* Documenting the results and ensuring these are referenced in the relevant issue tracking tools mapping back to pre-determined criteria.

* Identifies and reports issues and risks associated with own work.

* Designs and produces re-usable test scripts (including simple automated test scripts and packages), procedures and regression test packs to test new and amended software.

* Produces plans to test the effect of new and changed software on existing systems.

* Interpret and execute complex test scripts using agreed methods and standards.

* Review test results and modifies tests if necessary.

* Produces reports on system quality and metrics on test cases.

* Investigate operational issues, problems and new opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes/procedures.

Requirements:

* Experienced Test Analyst with ideally experience working within the public sector.

* Good understanding of the systems development lifecycle.

* Knowledge and/or experience in the planning, design, management, execution of end-to-end integration tests, using appropriate testing tools and techniques.

* Knowledge of testing ICT solutions within System Integration or User Acceptance test phase.

Desirable skills/experience:

* Qualified at International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) - Foundation Level.

* Experience of working in an Agile IT development environment.

* Experience of documenting test results including raising defects.

* Practical experience of using JIRA, Confluence and Test Management tools.
